These include nursing, midwifery, allied health, pharmacy, healthcare science, social care, research methods, public health and data science.
Eligibility criteria
To be eligible, interns must meet the following criteria:
-
Be in their second or third year of their degree level study in either a specific discipline listed above as one of the underrepresented professions, or a subject related to one of these areas (e.g., biomedical science, psychology, mathematics etc.).
-
Have a willingness and/or commitment to explore a future research career in the chosen discipline.
-
Interns who are based in devolved nations are eligible to apply to the advertised internships so long as they meet the rest of the eligibility criteria.

Internship project

The intern will contribute to an ongoing NIHR funded study called COLLATE which is co-creating an online methods toolkit (website) on co-design methods, tools and theories used to develop digital health technologies. Led by Dr Siobhán O'Connor at King's College London, the toolkit is being created from mixed methods systematic reviews on digital health co-design being conducted by her research team. The intern will work with Dr O'Connor and her team based in the Florence Nightingale Faculty of Nursing, Midwifery and Palliative Care.

The internship scheme will support the following costs for the intern:
-
Bursary for the full duration of the internship for the intern up to £5850 (6-8 weeks from June to September 2025).
